Simple Backyard Lounge

With summer here and a three day weekend in front of us, it makes me want to spend more time outdoors.  I would love to have a patio like blogger Anna Malin's to lounge, read, or have drinks with friends.  It's design is simple and relaxed with a collected feel.  Low maintenance and no fuss can be just the ticket sometimes.  To see more of her beautiful blog and amazing style go to Helt Enkelt (if you can translate swedish...even better).

Lucky Magazine to Launch "Lucky Home" and "Lucky Kids"

I'm happy to report that Lucky Magazine announced earlier this year that they will be coming out with an extension of their already popular fashion magazine and branching out into home decor and kids apparel.  Aptly named Lucky Home and Lucky Kids, these additions to the newsstand will most likely expand on the shopping reports, city guides, organizational methods, and trends that are already covered in the fashion issues.  As excited as I am to hear about the expansion into other areas however, it is also being reported that they will no longer be exploring "mid-range" fashion (budget friendly options).  One of the best qualities of the magazine was that it was relatable.  It dealt with fashion that anyone could acquire and create their own looks from.  I hope they won't stray too far from there original concepts.  We shall see!

When searching for interesting art, try to think outside of the box.  There are various ways to create art through elaborate wallpaper or through subtle wall installations.  Here are a few examples of some cool designer pieces that will hopefully get the creative juices flowing.  Several of these may be a little impractical, but they sure are fun to look at!

Pinterest - My New Love!

While doing some searches online, I recently came across an amazing site called Pinterest.  This website enables you to upload favorite images and create your own virtual bulletin board.  It also allows you to follow other people's boards with similar or inspiring styles.  


This is a great idea for anyone who is looking to catalogue images for particular projects.  For instance if you are redoing a bathroom, post inspirational images of tile, paint colors, and hardware that you like so that you can refer to them online.  This frees up space on your computer, and also helps you view them all together without printing or creating a collage in Photoshop.


Beware however, it can be a big time killer.  I'm embarrassed to say that I go to the site looking for one thing and end up distracted for hours by the limitless eye candy they have posted.  Whether you are looking for photos of travel destinations, food, wedding ideas, or furniture this site is a wonderful resource and certainly worth a look!
